homemade hummus

Last night I decided to make some hummus as an appetizer and it was by far the tastiest batch I have ever made. I used to think making hummus was too complicated but by using a recipe and adding a little touch of my own made it a lot more fun!

Total prep/cook time: 10 minutes

  • 2 15-ounce cans of organic garbanzo beans
  • 2/3 cup tahini paste
  • 4 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 4 small cloves garlic pressed
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon table salt
  • At the very end, sprinkle some chopped parsley, lebanese zaatar, and paprika.

First thing I did was add the two cans of garbanzo beans to the food processor until it was creamy looking. Then I added the lemon juice, salt, pressed garlic, and tahini to the food processor. It shouldn’t take longer than 5 minutes to blend all of it. I added olive oil and more lemon juice once the hummus was spread on a serving dish. The paprika and zaatar were added lastly and definitely added some spice to this!

I served the hummus with Stacy’s Multigrain Pita Chips, carrots, and pita bread. Watch out, it can be very addictive and filling but it is amazing!!!! Thanks for reading 🙂
