How to make nutella (healthier version!)

Tonight I tried to make nutella for the first time… It was pretty easy and quick, all you need is a food processor!

Ingredients I used:

1.5 c hazelnuts (very cheap at Winco)

1.25 c almond milk (you can use coconut milk instead)

1/2 c refined white sugar

10 oz of dark or milk chocolate

1/8 teaspoon salt

1) Preheat oven at 375 degrees and heat hazelnuts for 15-20 minutes.

2) Heat sugar with milk in a saucepan until the sugar has melted.

3) Create a double boiler if you do not already have one and melt chocolate chips for 8 minutes on low.

4) Take hazelnuts out of the oven and place them on a kitchen towel to peal off the skin of them as much as you can.

5)Put all the hazelnuts in the food processor for about a minute until it is fine.

6)Add the melted chocolate to hazelnut mixture and once it is at a smooth texture add the milk/sugar from the saucepan.

7)After about a couple minutes of processing the mixture, it should look nice and creamy. If you have used almond milk like I did, it will look more like syrup but still tastes great!

This should make enough for two medium sized jars, bon appétit!


PS There will be a way better picture of my nutella product in a little bit once I have croissants ready and I will have a picture and recipe of both! 🙂
